Maddie sat in the local library, pouring over the books they had there, trying her best to find anything that was relevant to her and Alfred's latest hunt. She wasn't having much luck though, as it seemed that the thing must have come from out of town. She let out a small huff of frustration, pushing the book into the middle of the table she had claimed, and pushing her chair away from it, leaning back with her arms crossed, pouting.
She really wished that she could have brought her laptop in, but noooo, Alfred just had to go and accidentally dump diet coke on her keyboard, and although she loved her brother dearly and would willingly give up her life for him, she hated his fast food addiction and that he almost always messed with some of her stuff while he was eating.
She stood up then, fiddling with one of her pigtails a little as she did so, before picking up the stack of useless books and dropping them in the return slot, so she wouldn't have to put them all back herself. She gave a small mournful sigh as she left the pile of books in the cart, fixing one of the barrettes holding back her bangs, before setting off into the large shelves of books to search for one that might be useful. She really hoped that it wouldn't take her that long to find one, although she did love libraries and reading, even she eventually got feed up with wandering the endless stacks of books and breathing the stale air.
She closed her eyes and leaned her forehead against a shelf, before taking her glasses off and rubbing her sore eyes. Just how long had she been reading the tiny font in that other book? It must have been longer then she thought it had been to make her eyes this sore. She let out a sigh, and a quiet utter of "Maple!" When her hands fumbled and she dropped her glasses, rendering her unable to see clearly. She immediately dropped to the floor, kneeling down and feeling around for her glasses, not caring that she would be in the way of anyone who came down that isle, muttering under her breath as she tried to find them.
